INTRODUCTION:
Broadwater National Park is an important area of heath and wetland to the north of Bundjalung National Park. The park is home to a wonderful array of native plant species, as is seen during the wildflower season. Also the park is important habitat to a large variety of birds and animals including the Ibis, Herons, Brolga, Sea Eagle, Jabiru, Echidna and Bandicoot.
This area was the traditional homeland of the Bundjalung Aboriginal people. The park area was an extremely important food gathering and hunting ground.
The national park has a picnic area with tables, gas BBQs and pit toilets. There is also a viewing platform.
Broadwater National Park is located north of Evans Head and 11km east of the Pacific Highway along the Broadwater-Evans Head Road.
WALKING:
Broadwater Lookout:
The Broadwater Lookout is located off the Broadwater-Evans Head Road. There are also picnic and BBQ facilities at this location.
