WHAT'S ON THIS PAGE:
INTRODUCTION:
Toonumbar National Park protects an area of about 5 750 hectares of the Richmond Range, with sections included in the World Heritage Area: Central Eastern Rainforests Reserves (Australia) - the Murray Scrub and Dome Mountain Forest areas.
The national park protects a large number of plant, animal and bird species, including a number of rare species.
The park is accessed via the Summerland Way and the Toonumbar Forest Drive (note this is basically a 4WD dry weather road only).
CAMPING:
Iron Pot Creek Rest Area:
Iron Pot Creek Rest Area provides both picnic sites and camping sites next to Iron Pot Creek. Camping fees apply and these can be paid at the self-registration station at the rest area.

WALKING:
Murray Scrub Walking Track:
The Murray Scrub Walking TRack leads through an area of subtropical rainforest and is accessed via the Murray Scrub Road (500m up the road). The road is not brilliant, but easily traversed when dry.

Iron Pot Loop:
The Iron Pot Loop is a 750m (10 minute) walk beginning at the Iron Pot Creek Camping Area. The track makes its way through the rainforest and down to Iron Pot Creek before returning to the camping area.
Murray Scrub and Sherwood Lookouts:
Both these lookouts are easily accessed along the Toonumbar Forest Drive. However, it should be noted that this road is essentially a 4WD dry weather road only.
